Purpose of Role
As part of Vertex’s aggressive growth strategy, the Marketing team is responsible in North America for developing and delivering strategies and programs that have quantifiable outcomes which:
support and align with business goals and outcomes;
stimulate sales growth;
maximize the positioning of service line offerings;
contribute to client retention; and
reflect best-practice integrated marcomms skills and practices
The Marketing Manager is required to support the above in the development of specific go-to-market strategies and tactical plans for Vertex offerings.
The Marketing Manager will lead the development of these specific initiatives across the business, with the purpose to stimulate sales growth; to retain key clients and so contribute to the achievement of company objectives.
In addition the Marketing Manager will be expected to demonstrate leadership for team colleagues in one key discipline area as agreed with their manager – leadership will constitute the defining of the strategy for the discipline area that will be followed by the entire team and which will optimize resources and Vertex positioning. Examples may include (but are not limited to) metrics tracking of marketing events/activities, public affairs, and analyst relations.
Core Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will include:
Support the development and implement the marketing plan for specified areas and activities and liaise with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to ensure effective and efficient delivery
Ensure that products and services match the Vertex business goals and brand positioning
Work closely with key stakeholders to determine business objectives and strategy for delivery
Develop and implement a promotional mix to deliver a marketing communications plan for the designated areas in order to generate specified interest and sales leads
Monitor marketing return on investment based according to the agreed team ROI and quantifiable outcomes that contribute to growth – analyze the results of sector marketing activity and present findings and recommendations to key internal clients
Commission and manage projects, ensuring high quality, value-for-money results, in line with deadlines and business objectives
Manage multiple marketing campaigns across diverse channels to ensure they are delivered on time and on budget
Manage sector-specific and corporate marketing events/activities including (but not limited to) trade show selection and execution, speaking engagements, thought leadership, client newsletters, and other activities.
Develop the strategy for the agreed key discipline and ensure that it is approved and embedded within the activities of all team colleagues as well as personal plans
Work closely with, and provide support to, the Public Relations Manager in developing PR programs in line with go-to-market plans
Key Clients (internal and external)
The Marketing Manager will work closely with sector sales teams, consulting, support and operational managers to help Vertex win new business and retain existing clients.
In addition, the Marketing Manager will communicate and network with existing clients and prospects where necessary.

Requirements
Professional/Technical Experience
5+ years experience in marketing and marketing communications
A thorough understanding of B2B marketing
An understanding of marketing specific processes, including e-marketing and print
Knowledge of BPO, Customer Management Outsourcing (CMO), and IT Applications, Products and Services strongly preferred
Experience of international marketing an advantage
Academic & Professional Qualifications
Minimum of Bachelor Degree required
MBA a plus
