2010 Marketing Salary Survey (by Aquent & AMA)

The 2010 Marketing Salary Survey is here!

Aquent and the American Marketing Association have once again joined forces to provide marketing professionals like you with the latest research and insight into the marketing industry.

The survey revealed that salaries are rising, but so are challenges for the majority of marketing professionals. More than half of the 5,300 respondents said that their salaries will increase in 2010, but only 16 percent strongly agreed that they had all the resources they need to meet their organization’s 2010 marketing objectives.

This position is for a Marketing Manager reporting to the General Manager of Carlisle Coatings & Waterproofing. The primary function of this role is the development and execution of strategic marketing plans and programs, specific to the Carlisle Coatings & Waterproofing business unit. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Develop and execute the overall marketing strategy, which is aligned with CCWI’s business objectives, and includes long and short-term programs that reflect that strategy.
Develop, monitor and manage Marketing budgets in a manner that most effectively and efficiently supports the annual and ongoing objectives.
Review changes to the marketplace and industry, evaluate effectiveness of marketing programs, and adjust the marketing plan accordingly.
Develop, maintain and provide information and advice to the General Manager, and other management team members, relating to sales and marketing activities to assist in strategic planning.
Consult with other functional area managers to provide marketing strategies and recommendations to support their business plans and targets.
Manage the marketing team by prioritizing workloads and coaching/mentoring individual members, so as to build team skills, thus increasing productivity and overall effectiveness.
Establish, monitor and continually improve work processes that are executed by the Marketing team members.
Supervise and assist in the graphic design, layout and production of literature, brochures, direct mail pieces, PowerPoint presentations, flyers, booth design and graphics, product packaging, business forms and other miscellaneous collateral.
Plan and manage various events, including trade shows, national sales meetings and other promotional events.
Develop the annual media plan, and support it by writing, editing, proofing and scheduling advertisements, press releases, feature articles, technical articles and other documents for internal and external publication, including corporate reports, websites, and trade journals.
Managing integration of the brand and marketing communication programs of acquired companies.
Monitor, review and report on the execution, progress and effectiveness of marketing plans, programs, and initiatives to ensure the achievement of established goals and objectives.

Skills/Requirements
The following are the minimum education and experience requirements. Consideration will be given to individuals with an equivalent combination of education and experience.

1. Have at least 7 years minimum experience, with Bachelors degree in Marketing or other closely related field. Master’s degree is a plus. Previous supervisory experience required.
2. Thorough understanding of marketing principals; knowledgeable of proven marketing methods for achieving a variety of marketing and business objectives; a high degree of creativity; and understanding of customer service principals.
3. Familiarity with all business functions, and an understanding of their considerations, with respect to product positioning, product development and other business initiatives; ability to work well in a team, both as a member and as a team leader, to build consensus across functional lines and achieve desired results; complex problem solving ability; and ability to delegate tasks effectively.
4. Budget planning, monitoring and controlling skills; employee coaching, development, counseling and evaluation skills; understanding of print and electronic media design and layout; ability to create and improve work flow processes; ability to negotiate and form partnerships within the industry and industry trade organizations; understanding and ability to implement a variety of research techniques; and understanding of CCWI products and their respective applications.

Run SQL queries to QC audiences. Manage client expectations and relationships. Must have exposure to HTML and be capable of learning SQL. Must be a fast learner and able to adapt in a strenuous environment. Must have copy editing experience, pay close attention to detail and be sufficient, thorough and consistently accurate in daily job duties.

Direct Mail Requirements

Reviews the data processing files to ensure the integrity of the file. Also, works closely with creative and print production to manage all proofs/blue lines and letter shop set ups/sign offs for client review/approval.

Help Safety-Kleen Systems, Inc. be a leader in the industry by acting as the Marketing Coordinator in Plano, TX.

Responsibilities:

•Project management including reviewing and submitting Marketing Project Brief; Discussing brief with “client” to determine project specs/obtain additional info.
•Logging on job queue, assigning job #/priority/responsibility
•Setting up initial meeting and progress meetings with creative team/client
•Project tracking/communication, update via email with status report (posted on SKNet)
•Request part number, determine quantity needed and distribution planned.
•Facilitate review process – client, management, legal and proofing
•Coordinate production with vendor (obtain estimates from approved vendors, submit for approval)
•Marketing collateral production facilitation/management
•AP Duties (Estimate/PO/Invoice Processing)
•Literature fulfillment/inventory management
•Tradeshow coordination
•Event coordination/planning
•Other duties as required

Requirements:

•High School diploma or equivalent required
•Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
•3 to 5 years work experience
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to multi-task and perform well in a fast-paced environment
•Detail-oriented
•Superior judgment when setting priorities and deadlines
•Advanced skill level in MS Office applications
•Thorough understanding of file conversions, image formats and graphic production
•High level of interpersonal and team skills

Objective
STA Travel is looking for an enthusiastic, highly organized and resourceful team player to oversee all aspects of our email communications. This position has a broad range of responsibilities involving all aspects of email marketing and plays a key role in increasing customer retention and revenue through this channel. He/she will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of our email marketing calendar, program conception, deployment, reporting for email communications as well as involvement in STA Travels social communities, blogs, and other affiliated websites.
Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day email marketing activities including but not limited to: implementation and maintenance of email campaign calendar, creative brief production, email campaign set-up, design, building, scheduling, testing, and deployment.
Monitor, analyze, and report on email campaign performance, identify areas of improvement, and recommend ways to increase revenue and ROI.
Be recognized within the company as the expert on STA Travel's email delivery through the 3rd party ESP, maintaining a relationship with the ESP account manager and technical staff for support needs
Work closely with Graphic Designer to design new email marketing templates and customized email marketing campaigns.
Work cross-departmentally to gather assets and content.

Maintain STA Travel affiliated sites, web communities, and blogs
Communicate with retail marketing team on all retail store initiatives
Identify new online marketing opportunities
Other duties as assigned
