SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this position is to actively solicit meetings, conventions, conferences and tradeshows from a specific market/territory. Performance is measured by clearly defined indicators including definite & tentative bookings, lead referrals, budget management, communication and compliance. In an experienced sales representative role, the expectation is to generate significant definite & tentative business with an emphasis on booking major citywide level events using the Dallas Convention Center and/or large single/multiple venues.

SCOPE

This position will assist in developing and implementing the Dallas CVB strategic plan necessary to reach the goals set by management for the Sales and Services division. Developing and maintaining professional relationships with our clients and partners is critical to both our short & long term success, therefore, it is imperative this position play a proactive role in market/territory related organizations, special events and/or assigned duties. Responsibilities will also include initiating frequent contact with clients who control placement of their various events and recording all activities in a timely and accurate manner.

WORK PERFORMANCE

A. Achieve a specific number of definite room nights from a designated market/territory.

B. Achieve a specific number of citywide bookings from a designated market/territory.

C. Generate a specific number of qualified leads for other DCVB market/territory segments.

D. Effectively manage the individual and team budget process and report all expenses in a timely and accurate manner.

E. Effectively communicate through documented correspondence to a well maintained client distribution list.

F. Comprehend, acknowledge and implement the essential DCVB sales and booking policies and procedures to ensure all reports reflect accurate and justifiable performance to our board, partners and auditor.

G. Maintain an organized and efficient time management, account development and trace system to ensure accurate and timely communication and follow-up to clients, partners and management.

H. Respectfully participate in team meetings, division meetings, training, special events, assignments and professional appointments.

I. Assist management in special projects and events.

J. Effectively research and communicate the impact of public and private development in Dallas and other competitive destinations.

K. Maintain a high degree of visibility and professionalism in all customer contact and while representing the Dallas CVB for any purpose as directed by management.

L. Maintain consistent direct sales contact with prospective, tentative, and definite clients through proactive sales activity.

M. Organize, communicate and conduct professional site inspections and/or presentations specifically tailored to the needs of each organization allowing key decision makers to experience those features and benefits of Dallas that will provide the most significant impact on the decision process.

N. Effectively communicate and support all DCVB departments. Work closely with the Convention Services Department to ensure we exceed customer expectations and maintain a high ratio of repeat business.

O. Develop and maintain professional relationships with the DCVB membership/board through participation in quarterly meetings and networking opportunities.

P. Maintain accurate and timely records of account management and sales activity in CRM.

Q. Responsible for the management and development of an administrative assistant. This is a shared role with other assigned managers.

NOTES: Local Residents Preferred (No Relo).
Additional Salary Information: Target Incentive of 25% of annual base salary with no cap.

Requirements
Equivalent Education Level – College degree preferred or must have equivalent hospitality industry experience.
Experience – Minimum of five years of direct selling in hospitality sales.

Job Specifications:
Education/Experience: Doctor of Chiropractic degree and active license is not required, but would be considered a benefit. Experience successfully managing a practice marketing campaign, utilizing proven marketing techniques shown to drive patient traffic would also be considered a benefit. Must be capable of interacting with prospective patients in public settings and engaging them to become patients of any of the three Wellness Centers. Must be able to demonstrate and teach these skills for DC interns in the same process. Strong customer service skills, computer knowledge required and 5 years experience in chiropractic. Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends is a must.
